"there's the target!"

kyle and his dogs got into position, surrounding the armored bug-type with his pokemon, each of them snarling and growling in an attempt to intimidate the wild pokemon into opposition. bringing dark-types to hunt bug-types probably wasn't a smart idea, but everything can be overcome with numbers. kyle has quantity to offer if he was versing against the escavalier.

"kill."

lancelot was quickly jumped by six mightyenas at the same time. the quick guard protects him from one of the bites while his other limb pierces towards one of the dark-types. the defense blocks a crunch while the offense is blocked by a protect. it leaves the other four mightyena to jump the bug-type, some of their fangs coated in flames.

the escavalier quickly catches on fire, burning, only to be saved by kyle throwing a pokeball at it.

the next one they see is one that kyle doesn't encounter too often. they were common on hoenn, however, but people in the competitive scene rarely have these pokemon under their collection of pokemon.

the little angel of a bug-type have their little gimmicks, however, but not one that kyle wasn't prepared for.

"alpha."

just the mention of his name, along with the slightest shift of his head to motion towards the mightyena's target, was all it took for the dark-type to move. the shedinja seemed dull and slow, but its reaction towards the show of aggression was to quickly blend into the shadows and hide with shadow sneak. it's not able to hide from the mightyena when it pops up, unfortunately.

as soon as it reappears by the branches of the trees, the canine quickly leaps towards the bark and then kicking himself for a wall jump to reach the branch where the shedinja was. the crunch brings the wild pokemon into unconsciousness as alpha reaches him, landing on all fours before dropping the limp body on the ground.

kyle stares at it and simply lets the pokeball free fall into the fainted angel.

if he had a dragon with him at the moment, he would have caught up to the yanma without much delay.

chasing after the bug-type was a difficult task, especially given that it had wings to navigate through the woods easier. the canines were almost ignoring the thickets of the forest with their careless steps just to chase after it, but kyle knew that their efforts would be in vain if they just do not change their tactics right now.

he whistles for everyone to halt, and then calls for one of them. "charlie," he calls the mightyena, its ears perking up as it heard its name. "shadow ball."

laser focus gets it to get into the mood. its eyes intent on the yanma, it whips up a quick shadow ball, forming the blast of energy from its mouth, before releasing it at the yanma. it flies straight to the fleeing pokemon, clipping it at its wings, as it crashes into the undergrowth. it would've been hard to locate it after it has gained distance from them, but not with his tracking dogs.

as soon as they reach it, kyle throws a pokeball at it.
